Overview

Competitive pachinko, Brisbane style

Every Friday at 7 PM the tournament floor closes to casual play and the bracket begins. Twenty players draw machines from the same class, play two timed heats and chase ball count, not luck of the draw.

Buy-in is $45 and the full pool comes back as bounty, so the house takes nothing from the prize side. Top three each week bank league points toward the quarterly Brisbane Cup final, where the pool climbs past $5,000 in prizes. New players should book a beginner masterclass first; the format is friendly, but the machines are not slowed down for anyone.

  • Two timed heats on matched machine class
  • Full buy-in returned as the bounty pool
  • League points toward the quarterly Brisbane Cup
  • Live leaderboard on the floor screens

What You Get

How tournament night runs

A clean, timed format that rewards ball control and machine reading over luck.

Guaranteed pool

$500 minimum paid every Friday. Twenty entries push the pool to $900, and the house never takes a cut.

League points

Top three finishers bank 10, 6 and 3 points toward the Brisbane Cup ladder each quarter.

Timed heats

Two 35-minute heats plus a final for the top four. Ball count wins, so every dial position matters.

How It Works

From booking to bounty in four steps

01

Buy in online

Reserve your seat before Friday. Twenty spots per night and regulars book out the early bird window.

02

Draw your machine

Machines are drawn by lot at 6:45 PM, all the same class and all freshly calibrated that afternoon.

03

Play two heats

Thirty-five minutes each. Your counted balls carry over, so pace yourself between heats.

04

Take the bounty

Top four shoot out in a final heat. Pool pays to the podium and league points post the same night.

Member Story

I came dead last in my first three brackets and still had the best Friday nights of my year. Fourth time out I made the final heat, and the room actually cheered.

All FAQs

No. Roughly a third of every bracket is first-timers. We recommend a masterclass first, but the draw and rules are explained before play starts.

Floor staff pause your heat, move you to a spare unit of the same class and credit the time lost. Malfunctions are rare because tournament machines are calibrated each Friday afternoon.

Yes, the tournament floor has a rail for guests and the bounty bar stays open. Friends can track the live leaderboard on the overhead screens.

Tied ball counts go to a five-minute shootout on a neutral machine. If it is still level, the higher single-heat score wins.
